Martín Cavazos, MA, MS

Martín Cavazos is an experienced educator and counselor with a strong background in academic advising and student development. Originally from Monterey, CA, Martín moved to Milwaukee five years ago. He holds a degree in Social Science from San Diego State University, a teaching credential from Cal State San Marcos, and an MA in History from San Diego State. He recently earned his MS in Educational Psychology: School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Martín has extensive experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds. He began his career interning at the Cambria-Friesland School District, where he helped students in grades 6-12 navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. As a college instructor in American History, he has guided students in understanding complex material and improving their academic performance. His experience working with students from different socioeconomic backgrounds has sharpened his ability to adapt support services to meet individual student needs.

In his spare time, Martín enjoys swimming, playing tennis, and traveling. He looks forward to exploring Africa this summer.
