Sage McCormick, MS

Hi, I’m Sage McCormick, and I am of Irish, Scottish, German, and Russian heritage. I have enjoyed working with people from all walks of life who need someone to walk with and support them. I have previously worked in community mental health care providing mental health services to victims of crime and underserved populations in Milwaukee. I specialize in taking a relational, cultural, and trauma-informed approach when working with people of all ages and from many walks of life.

I received my bachelors in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Montana, and my M.S. in Professional Counseling from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee. I practice from a Feminist and Community Activated Medicine orientation, combining my understanding of how systems and relational connections impact our health. I also am pursuing certification as a Clinical Rehabilitation Counselor to empower and support individuals with disabilities. I have worked with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma histories, relational wounds, LGBTQ+ identities, life transitions, and health concerns. In sessions, I enjoy bringing a mix of play, movement, nature, art, somatic, or mindfulness practices depending on the needs and likes of people I work with. I believe in taking a collaborative approach, as you are the expert of your experience, and I am along to support you in this vulnerable journey.

I enjoy traveling and have been an avid traveler since I was 18 and have visited ten countries in total between Asia and Europe. I enjoy spending my free time with my dog, Belle, going on walks or kayaking. I also enjoy meals with my family, spending time with my nieces, horseback riding, and trying new experiences. If I’m not outside, I am likely reading fantasy or learning about folklore, trying a new craft, watching a movie, or baking.
